China and India Face Extreme Weather Challenges

Record-breaking temperatures and a severe drought are currently affecting various parts of Asia, with China experiencing scorching heat waves and a looming threat to crops due to the lack of rainfall. This extreme weather pattern is not unique to China, as neighboring countries like India are also grappling with intense heat waves.

In China, north and central regions are facing prolonged high temperatures, with some areas expecting the mercury to reach as high as 42 degrees Celsius. The scorching temperatures in northern China are expected to persist until June 20, potentially surpassing historical records in provinces like Hebei, Shanxi, and Henan.

Meanwhile, in Shandong's Mengyin County, authorities are taking unconventional measures like artificial rain to combat a severe drought gripping the region. This highlights the diverse challenges posed by climate-related disasters in different parts of Asia.
