Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif advocates for global vaccine equality, climate action, and acknowledges healthcare initiatives in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During his speech at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to address global inequalities in vaccine distribution and enhance international cooperation to tackle health challenges. He highlighted the significant disparities in the allocation of Covid-19 vaccines as a prime example of these imbalances. Additionally, he underscored the urgency of addressing climate change, noting Pakistan's vulnerability despite its minimal contribution to emissions.

Sharif recounted the devastating impact of climate change on Pakistan, particularly citing the severe floods in 2022 that necessitated substantial government investment for rehabilitation efforts. He raised concerns about the financial burden faced by developing countries in accessing funds for climate-related disasters.

On the healthcare front, Sharif highlighted his efforts as Chief Minister of Punjab in providing quality medical services to flood-affected individuals and effectively managing the Dengue outbreak. He also praised the establishment of a state-of-the-art liver and kidney hospital in Lahore, offering free treatment to the underprivileged.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the vital role played by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in eradicating polio in Pakistan, despite the challenges posed by the 2022 floods. He expressed optimism about Pakistan's progress towards becoming a polio-free nation through sustained vaccination campaigns.

In conclusion, Sharif commended the healthcare initiatives undertaken by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing global health and environmental issues.
