Authorities in Saudi Arabia crack down on unauthorized Hajj transportation, detaining 26 individuals and imposing severe penalties to ensure the safety and sanctity of the pilgrimage.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia have taken strict action against individuals attempting to enter Makkah without valid permits for the Hajj pilgrimage. The Ministry of Interior has reported the detention of 26 individuals, including nine residents and 19 citizens, who were caught trying to transport 102 people without authorization.
The General Directorate of Passports has imposed severe penalties on the violators, including a 15-day prison term and a fine of SR10,000 ($2,666) for each transporter. The fines will be multiplied by the number of passengers carried, and expatriate offenders will face deportation and a ban from re-entering the Kingdom after serving their sentence. Furthermore, five vehicles used for illegal transportation have been seized by the authorities.
It is crucial for both citizens and expatriates to strictly adhere to Hajj regulations to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of all pilgrims during this sacred journey. The Ministry of Interior emphasizes the importance of following guidelines to maintain the sanctity of the pilgrimage and protect the well-being of all participants.
