A group of 455 Sikh pilgrims from India visit Pakistan to commemorate Maharaja Ranjit Singh, fostering cultural exchange and strengthening bonds between the two nations.

Recently, a group of 455 Sikh pilgrims from India crossed the Wagah border into Pakistan to participate in the death anniversary ceremonies of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. This pilgrimage holds significant cultural and religious importance for the Sikh community, as they pay homage to one of their revered historical figures.

Upon their arrival, the pilgrims were warmly welcomed by officials from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC). Expressing their joy and gratitude, the pilgrims considered it a privilege to visit the land associated with their Gurus.

The PSGPC President acknowledged the excellent arrangements made by the ETPB for the pilgrims, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their stay. Special emphasis was placed on the ongoing renovation work at Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Samadhi, showcasing the commitment to preserving Sikh heritage.

Under tight security, the pilgrims were escorted to Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal to perform their religious rituals. The itinerary includes visits to various significant Gurdwaras, culminating in a main ceremony at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore on June 29.

This pilgrimage not only serves as a spiritual journey for the Sikh pilgrims but also fosters cultural exchange and strengthens the bonds between India and Pakistan. The warm reception and meticulous arrangements reflect the shared reverence for history and religious traditions, promoting harmony and understanding among communities.
