Millions of pilgrims complete Hajj rituals amidst extreme conditions, expressing gratitude and unity during Eidul Azha celebrations despite global conflicts.

Millions of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia recently completed the final major ritual of the Hajj, known as the stoning of the devil. This ritual, which involves throwing stones at three walls symbolizing the devil in the Mina valley, outside Makkah, is a significant part of the pilgrimage that commemorates Abraham's stoning of the devil. Over the years, safety improvements have been implemented to prevent tragic stampedes during this ritual.

During the Hajj, pilgrims faced extreme heat, with temperatures soaring to 46 degrees Celsius in Arafat. Many pilgrims suffered from heat-related illnesses, highlighting the challenging conditions they endure during this spiritual journey. Despite the hardships, pilgrims expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pray at Islam's holiest sites.

The Hajj, being a fundamental pillar of Islam, attracts millions of Muslims annually. This year, 1.8 million pilgrims participated in the pilgrimage, with a significant number coming from different parts of the world. The stoning ritual coincided with Eidul Azha, a festival that honors Abraham's sacrifice.

However, this year's celebrations were overshadowed by the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Despite warnings against political expressions during the pilgrimage, many pilgrims expressed solidarity with Palestinians.

Across various countries, Muslims celebrated Eidul Azha by performing prayers and sacrificing animals. In Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other nations, Eid prayers were held in mosques, including prominent ones like the Grand Mosque of Makkah.

Residents in the UAE enjoyed a four-day weekend for the occasion, with festivities including fireworks displays in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The spirit of Eidul Azha was observed globally, uniting Muslims in prayer and celebration.

The completion of the Hajj rituals and the celebrations of Eidul Azha mark a significant time for Muslims worldwide. Despite the challenges faced during the pilgrimage, the sense of unity and devotion among pilgrims remains strong. The spirit of Eidul Azha continues to bring communities together in prayer and reflection, emphasizing the values of sacrifice and solidarity.
