Dolphin Squad and PRU Excel in Crime Prevention Efforts

The recent release of the weekly performance report of the Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) sheds light on their commendable efforts in maintaining law and order in the region. According to the DIG Operations, a total of 128 individuals involved in serious crimes were apprehended, with nine suspects linked to robbery and theft cases also taken into custody. The Dolphin squad's proactive measures resulted in the arrest of six dangerous dacoit gangs, along with the seizure of 14 pistols, two rifles, ammunition, and magazines from the offenders. Their swift response to 997 helpline calls and involvement in two police encounters demonstrate their dedication to ensuring public safety.

During routine patrols, the police detained 16 habitual offenders, 15 fugitives, and addressed 30 outstanding warrants, contributing significantly to crime prevention. The authorities also confiscated 8 bottles of alcohol, 2,700 grams of narcotics, and closed down 86 suspicious vehicles, effectively curbing illegal activities in the area. Legal actions were taken against 101 individuals, including 10 suspects engaged in activities like one-wheeling, kite flying, and celebratory gunfire, promoting a sense of accountability among the community. Additionally, the recovery of six mobile phones highlights the successful efforts in combating criminal activities.

The community policing initiatives led to the rescue of over 127 individuals in various situations, showcasing the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the public in ensuring community well-being. As preparations for Muharram intensify, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stressed the importance of heightened vigilance and patrols by the Dolphin Squad, particularly focusing on monitoring suspicious individuals to maintain peace and security during the upcoming period.
