The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is extending working hours to improve tax compliance and revenue collection, emphasizing collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan for streamlined tax processes.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is ramping up its efforts to achieve the annual tax target for the fiscal year 2023-24. The FBR has issued a directive aimed at ensuring the comprehensive collection of duties and taxes. This directive entails extended working hours for FBR offices across the country, including large taxpayer units and regional offices, from June 28 to June 30. The FBR has emphasized the importance of this initiative to enhance tax compliance and revenue collection.

Starting on June 28, FBR offices will operate until 8 PM, followed by extended hours until 6 PM on Saturday, June 29. On Sunday, June 30, tax offices will remain open until midnight. The FBR has instructed chief commissioners of land revenue to collaborate closely with the State Bank of Pakistan to streamline the tax collection process during these extended hours.

These measures are part of the FBR's focused strategy to ensure the efficient collection of all outstanding taxes and duties. By providing taxpayers with extended hours to fulfill their tax obligations, the FBR aims to support the nation's fiscal health and meet the predetermined tax revenue targets for the fiscal year.

The FBR's decision to extend working hours underscores its commitment to enhancing tax compliance and revenue collection. By facilitating taxpayers and creating more opportunities for them to meet their tax responsibilities, the FBR is working towards a stronger financial future for the country.
