ICCI and RCCI Collaborate to Boost Business Growth

The Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have come together to address the challenges faced by businesses in the twin cities. Both chambers have agreed to work hand in hand to enhance industrial and commercial activities in the region. A joint working group will be established, comprising members from both sides, to strengthen cooperation between ICCI and RCCI.

During a recent meeting between RCCI and ICCI, several crucial issues affecting the business community in Islamabad and Rawalpindi were discussed. The topics ranged from industrial zones and expo centers to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and interactions with government bodies such as FBR, RDA, and CDA. The President of RCCI stressed the significance of setting up a Business Facilitation Center (BFC) to promote business activities and proposed the establishment of industrial and economic zones along the ring road to support SMEs and ease traffic congestion.

The meeting also underscored the necessity of implementing long-term policies to ensure sustainable growth and timely completion of projects. Addressing disputes arising from the demarcation of boundaries between the twin cities, which have been hindering commercial activities, was another key focus. The President of ICCI assured the delegation of tackling these issues through collaborative efforts, with both chambers committing to holding regular bi-weekly meetings to encourage continuous dialogue.

The collaboration between ICCI and RCCI marks a significant step towards fostering a more conducive business environment in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. By working together and addressing key challenges faced by the business community, both chambers aim to promote economic growth, support SMEs, and enhance overall commercial activities in the region.
