Port Qasim in Pakistan witnesses a busy day with multiple ships handling diverse cargoes, contributing significantly to the country's economy through efficient import and export operations.

Port Qasim, one of the busiest ports in Pakistan, witnessed a flurry of shipping activities on Thursday. A total of seven ships were scheduled to handle various cargoes, including containers, cement, LNG, and Mogas, at different terminals within the port. These ships docked at Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, Port Gas Terminal, and Oil Terminal. Additionally, two more ships arrived at the outer anchorage, carrying coal and LPG.

Meanwhile, ten ships were actively engaged at the port berths, with some departing in the morning and others set to sail on Friday. The port handled a substantial cargo volume of 181,336 tonnes in the last 24 hours, with imports comprising 151,444 tonnes and exports 29,892 tonnes. This cargo was transported in 5,341 containers, split into 3,956 TEUs for imports and 1,385 TEUs for exports.

At the outer anchorage, nine ships were present, with four of them preparing to load and offload containers, rice, coal, and LPG. These ships are expected to dock at various terminals on Friday, while another containers ship is due to arrive on Saturday.

The bustling activities at Port Qasim highlight the port's crucial role in facilitating trade and commerce. With a diverse range of cargoes being handled efficiently, the port serves as a vital gateway for imports and exports, contributing significantly to the country's economy.
