The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a minor dip in trading activities on Friday. The 100-index dropped by 83.29 points, marking a 0.11 percent decrease, and closed at 78,444.96 points. This slight decline was a small deviation from the previous day's closing figure of 78,528.25 points. The total volume of shares traded on this day stood at 347,671,672, showing an increase from the previous day's volume of 283,542,503 shares. The total value of shares traded also rose to Rs 11.899 billion from Rs 11.067 billion in the previous session.

Market Participation and Top Performers

During the trading session, 435 companies actively participated in the stock market. Among them, 189 companies recorded gains, 170 faced losses, and the share prices of 76 companies remained unchanged. The top three companies in terms of trading volume were PTCL, K-Electric Limited, and WorldCall Telecom. PTCL led the pack by trading 70,992,434 shares at Rs 12.01 per share, followed by K-Electric Limited with 18,700,951 shares at Rs 4.63 per share, and WorldCall Telecom with 13,191,366 shares at Rs 1.26 per share.

Notable Share Price Movements

Nestle Pakistan Limited showed the highest increase in share price, gaining Rs 227.25 to close at Rs 7,154.17 per share. Ismail Industries Limited followed closely with a rise of Rs 114.87 per share, closing at Rs 1,482.14. On the flip side, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited experienced the most significant decrease, with a decline of Rs 56.95 per share, closing at Rs 7,593.05. Thai Limited also saw a decrease, with a decline of Rs 11.60 per share, closing at Rs 483.34.
