SEG Solar partners with Grand Batang City to establish a groundbreaking photovoltaic industrial park in Indonesia, aiming to set new standards in sustainable energy production and economic growth.

SEG Solar, a leading U.S. manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, has partnered with Grand Batang City in Indonesia to create a groundbreaking photovoltaic industrial park in Batang Regency, Java. This initiative aims to set up state-of-the-art facilities for producing silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and modules, positioning it as the largest photovoltaic industrial park in Southeast Asia.

The project, valued at over $500 million USD, will span more than 40 hectares and boast a vertical integration capacity of 5GW for silicon wafers, cells, and modules. The industrial park's construction will occur in phases, with the first phase focusing on establishing facilities capable of producing 5GW of solar cells and 3GW of modules by Q2 2025.

By emphasizing an integrated layout across the industry chain, SEG aims to adhere to supply chain standards and deliver clean, traceable green products to global markets. This strategic move not only ensures a reliable supply chain for SEG's global module factory but also underscores the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Moreover, the SEG Indonesia PV industrial park is anticipated to generate over 3,000 employment opportunities, thereby bolstering local employment rates and fostering economic growth within the region. With SEG's track record of shipping over 5 GW of solar modules worldwide by the end of 2023 and a projected production capacity exceeding 5.5 GW by the end of 2024, the company is poised to make significant strides in the renewable energy sector.

Grand Batang City, Indonesia's largest state-owned enterprise industrial estate, covering 4,300 hectares in Central Java, offers a conducive environment for industrial development. The estate, encompassing various sectors such as industries, housing, retail, and commercial areas, is on track to be fully operational by the conclusion of 2024.

The collaboration between SEG Solar and Grand Batang City heralds a new era of sustainable energy production in Southeast Asia. By establishing the region's largest photovoltaic industrial park, the project not only showcases technological advancements but also underscores the importance of environmental stewardship and economic progress. As SEG continues to expand its global footprint and Grand Batang City solidifies its position as an industrial hub, this partnership sets a benchmark for future renewable energy initiatives worldwide.
