DABS partners with Shenzhen CLOU to produce affordable electricity meters in Afghanistan, enhancing accessibility and supporting network development projects.

A recent contract worth $2.7 million has been finalized between Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) and Shenzhen CLOU, a prominent Chinese meter manufacturing company. The agreement focuses on the production of both single-phase and three-phase meters to address the challenges faced by customers in obtaining electricity meters in Afghanistan.

Previously, customers of DABS had to purchase meters from the open market at varying and often high prices. However, with this new contract, DABS aims to provide approximately 150,000 standard meters at a more affordable cost, simplifying the process for customers to access them. These meters, meeting DABS standards, will be manufactured by Shenzhen CLOU and imported into Afghanistan for integration into the network upon arrival.

This strategic initiative not only ensures the availability of standard meters at reasonable prices but also supports network repair and development projects. By enhancing the accessibility of meters, DABS is committed to improving customer satisfaction and strengthening the electricity infrastructure across the country.

The collaboration between DABS and Shenzhen CLOU signifies a significant step towards providing cost-effective electricity meters to customers in Afghanistan. This partnership not only streamlines the process of acquiring meters but also contributes to the overall enhancement of the electricity sector in the region. By prioritizing affordability and quality, DABS is dedicated to meeting the needs of its customers and fostering sustainable development in the energy industry.
