The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) has recently given the green light to eight major projects totaling 56.95 billion baht (USD 1.54 billion). These projects cover a wide range of sectors, including a bio-ethylene plant, data centers, power plants, and a new hospital, signaling a significant investment in Thailand's economy.

One notable approval is for a bio-ethylene plant by a local joint venture of Braskem from Brazil, highlighting the country's commitment to sustainable practices. Additionally, the BOI has introduced new investment promotion categories to support service centers specializing in the repair and reuse of electric vehicle batteries, data hosting businesses, and quarantine facilities for animals.

Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, leading the BOI, emphasized the importance of these projects in driving economic growth and promoting environmental protection. The approval of projects by both local and foreign entities underscores Thailand's attractiveness for investments in key industries.

Furthermore, the BOI has extended incentives to automotive parts manufacturers to enhance their technological capabilities and adapt to emerging sectors like medical equipment and aviation, aligning with the country's digital transformation goals.

The BOI's recent approvals reflect a strategic move to boost various sectors of the economy, promote sustainability, and drive Thailand's digital evolution. These initiatives not only benefit businesses but also contribute to the country's overall development and competitiveness in the global market.
