Students at Avicenna Medical College protest against alleged abuse and exploitation following the mysterious death of Mahnoor Nadeem. Calls for accountability and safety measures rise amidst accusations against college administration.

Students at Avicenna Medical College in Lahore's DHA have taken to the streets and social media to protest against the administration after the mysterious death of a female student, Mahnoor Nadeem. The incident has shed light on alleged abuse and exploitation faced by students at the private medical college.

Reports indicate that Mahnoor Nadeem, who passed away under unclear circumstances, was reportedly denied leave despite being unwell. Fellow students have come forward with harrowing stories of mistreatment, including heavy fines, lack of permission for emergency leaves, and instances of physical and verbal abuse.

Many students have accused Abdul Waheed Sheikh, the chairman of the college's trust, and his daughters, who hold administrative positions, of being involved in the mistreatment of students. Students claim that Sheikh used abusive language towards them, and there are allegations of physical abuse, such as tearing a student's shirt. Additionally, a professor at the college has been accused of sexual harassment.

The protests have gained momentum both on campus and online, with students demanding action against the alleged perpetrators. Despite the outcry, there has been no official response from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or the provincial administration regarding the situation at Avicenna Medical College.

In the wake of Mahnoor Nadeem's tragic death, students are calling for accountability and justice to ensure the safety and well-being of all students at the institution.
