The Cambridge International Education investigates alleged AS Level Mathematics paper leak, reassuring students of exam integrity.

The Cambridge International Education (CIE) has issued a warning regarding fake WhatsApp and social media posts circulating, falsely attributed to Cambridge, following allegations of an AS Level examination paper leak. The CIE emphasized that official updates and information are solely communicated through their official Facebook page and designated communication channels with schools or the British Council.

Students raised concerns on social media platforms, particularly Facebook groups, claiming that the AS Level Mathematics Paper had been leaked online just before the scheduled exam on April 2. This caused distress among students, fearing potential exam cancellation and adverse effects on their grades. Expressing disappointment over the leak, students described it as a regrettable incident considering their diligent preparation for the tests.

In response to the uproar, the CIE initiated an inquiry into the alleged paper leak, specifically focusing on AS Level Mathematics 9709 Paper 12 scheduled for May 2, 2024. The investigation is ongoing, with Cambridge and the British Council closely coordinating efforts.

While updates on the matter will be provided in due course, the CIE clarified that additional information will not be shared through Facebook comments or direct messages. Emphasizing their commitment to maintaining exam integrity and fairness, Cambridge and the British Council assured candidates of a secure examination environment.

Although the veracity of the paper leak remains unconfirmed, sources from the CIE and British Council are optimistic that the investigation will be concluded within the next one to two weeks.
