In a recent development, former Chief Minister of Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has taken legal action by approaching the Lahore High Court (LHC) regarding the alleged harassment of polling agents and voters during the by-elections. The petition filed by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi names the Election Commission, Gujrat police, and others as parties involved in the case. Elahi, who is a candidate in the by-elections from PP-32, has claimed that his supporters, family members, and even lawyers were subjected to harassment. He further stated that the returning officer, police, and rival candidates are allegedly colluding against him, with Provincial Minister Shafay Hussain reportedly leading the opponent's election campaign in the constituency.
