Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, President of PTI, moved to PIMS due to deteriorating health after a fall in prison.

Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, President of PTI and former Chief Minister of Punjab, has been moved back to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) as his health condition worsened. This decision came after his wife filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking his transfer to a medical facility. Elahi had previously suffered a fall in prison, resulting in four broken ribs, and was advised by doctors to rest for two weeks for recovery. He also faced cardiac issues last year, leading to his relocation to the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology.

A five-member medical board has been established at PIMS to oversee Elahi's treatment, comprising specialists in heart, medicine, stomach, chest, and general surgery. Tests, including an echocardiogram (ECG), will be conducted to determine the appropriate course of action. Elahi, who has a history of diabetes and heart diseases, complained of breathing difficulty and chest pain due to his fractured ribs.

Elahi's recent health complications arose when he slipped in Adiala jail's washroom, resulting in a bone fracture. He was promptly transferred to PIMS by Islamabad police for a thorough examination. The jail authorities presented Elahi's medical report in court during a hearing related to illegal recruitment in the Punjab Assembly, confirming the incident.

Chaudhry Pervez Elahi's recurrent health issues have raised concerns, prompting his transfer to PIMS for specialized care. The establishment of a medical board underscores the seriousness of his condition, emphasizing the need for comprehensive treatment. Elahi's medical challenges highlight the importance of prioritizing health and well-being, especially in demanding environments like prison.
