The Supreme Court of Pakistan, led by Chief Justice Isa, rejects KP government's plea for live broadcasting in NAB amendments appeal, emphasizing transparency in legal proceedings.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan recently made a decision regarding the live broadcasting of proceedings related to appeals against the termination of NAB amendments by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government. The five-member larger bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, presided over the appeals brought by the federation. During the hearing, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) participated via video link. Chief Justice Isa emphasized that live streaming was deemed unnecessary as it did not pertain to public interest. The court, with a majority vote of four to one, rejected the KP government's plea, with Justice Athar Minallah expressing dissent.

During the proceedings, the federation's lawyer, Makhdoom Ali Khan, presented arguments, while Khawaja Haris requested more time to conclude his arguments. The court granted Haris permission to meet the PTI founder in jail and instructed the provision of the case record to him. The next hearing for the case has been adjourned to the upcoming week.

The Supreme Court's decision to deny the KP government's request for live broadcasting of the NAB amendments appeal showcases the court's stance on the matter. With the next hearing scheduled for the following week, the legal proceedings continue to unfold, highlighting the importance of transparency and due process in the judicial system.
