The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, has called for a meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on July 2 to address the appointment of chief justices for the Lahore High Court (LHC) and Sindh High Court (SHC). The primary focus of the meeting will be the selection of a permanent Chief Justice for the Lahore High Court.

Among the candidates being considered for the position of Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court are Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Ali Baqer Najafi, and Justice Alia Neelam. The meeting will also discuss the appointment of a permanent Chief Justice for the Sindh High Court.

Set to be chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, the JCP meeting is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on July 2. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan is currently serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, having assumed office on July 25 following the elevation of former Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan to the Supreme Court on June 25.
