The Punjab Livestock Card scheme, recently approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to provide interest-free loans to farmers for cattle fodder. This initiative was given the green light during a meeting in Murree overseen by the chief minister. Alongside this, the Farmer Guidance App was announced, which will offer valuable information to farmers.

CM Maryam has directed the relevant department to create a plan specifically for individuals involved in dairy farming in South Punjab. The main goal of these efforts is to boost the economic independence of livestock farmers in the region.

Through the Punjab Livestock Card scheme, interest-free loans will be extended to both male and female farmers in rural areas of South Punjab. Initially, around 40,000 farmers are expected to benefit from this program, receiving easy loans for essentials like wanda, silage, and mineral mixture.

Under this scheme, farmers will receive a loan of Rs270,000, which must be repaid within 30 days. Additionally, the government will provide complimentary services such as animal dagging and quality testing of wanda and silage to support the livestock farming community.

The Punjab Livestock Card scheme approved by CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif is a significant step towards empowering farmers in South Punjab. By providing interest-free loans and essential services, the government aims to enhance the livelihoods of livestock farmers and promote sustainable agriculture practices in the region.
