Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif leads efforts to digitize land records, emphasizing transparency and efficiency in the revenue system while simplifying land transfer processes and providing services for overseas Pakistanis.

The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, led a special meeting focused on reforms within the Board of Revenue (BoR) in Punjab. The meeting highlighted the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) project, with a key emphasis on digitalization. The Chief Minister stressed the need for collaboration among relevant departments to implement necessary measures for the digitalization process.

During the meeting, it was disclosed that the land record digitization initiative is a joint effort with the World Bank under the 'Plus Project.' The Punjab Land Record Authority and Management of Estate Land presented a business plan that outlines the digitalization of all neighborhoods (mouzas) in Punjab. The primary goal is to enhance transparency in the revenue system by digitizing land records, including land partition and parcel documentation.

The government's strategy involves categorizing properties as Green, Blue, or Red based on their status. The aim is to simplify the land transfer process by assigning a unique property number to each seller, thereby reducing legal complications. This digitalization process will also streamline the Record of Rights-Holders (FARD), ownership, and land transfer systems.

Additionally, the meeting agenda includes a review of the joint property system and the provision of overseas property transfer services for Pakistani expatriates. The Overseas Property Transfer Service will offer facilities such as Record of Rights-Holders (Fard), Mutation, E-Girdawari, and Registration services for overseas Pakistanis.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Heads of SMU, and other officials.

The efforts to digitize land records in Punjab mark a significant step towards enhancing transparency and efficiency in the revenue system. The government's focus on simplifying land transfer processes and providing services for overseas Pakistanis demonstrates a commitment to modernizing administrative procedures for the benefit of all stakeholders.
