The Counter Terrorism Department in Punjab conducted successful operations leading to the arrest of suspected terrorists and recovery of explosives, enhancing security measures and preventing potential attacks.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Punjab has recently conducted a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) resulting in significant arrests and the recovery of explosives. These operations were aimed at combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of the public.

During the operations, a total of 152 IBOs were carried out, leading to the apprehension of 22 suspected terrorists. Notably, two of the arrested individuals were associated with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), while another had links to the proscribed al-Qaeda. The recovered explosives included hand-grenades, detonators, fuse wire, an IED bomb, primacord, as well as mobile phones and cash.

The arrested individuals, identified as Abdullah, Hameedullah, Kamal Khan, Allah Ditta, Nadeem, Manzar, Moazzam, Ramzan, Feroze Khan, Shoaib, and Yasir, were reportedly planning attacks at undisclosed locations. In addition to the arrests, 743 combing operations were conducted, resulting in the detention of 104 suspects. A total of 27,062 individuals were investigated during these operations.

The successful operations carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department in Punjab have led to the apprehension of suspected terrorists and the recovery of dangerous explosives. These efforts are crucial in maintaining security and preventing potential terrorist attacks, ultimately safeguarding the well-being of the community.
