CTD arrests JSMM terrorist in Matiari district

The Counter Terrorism Department has recently made a significant arrest in Matiari district, apprehending a suspected terrorist associated with the banned Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM). The suspect, identified as Waqar alias Vicky, was taken into custody following a successful operation. Among the items confiscated from his possession were a pistol, bullets, cash, a motorbike, and cash receipts.

Upon his arrest, Waqar alias Vicky was promptly transferred to the CTD's police station in Hyderabad. He has been formally charged under the relevant sections of the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997, and the Sindh Arms Act, 2013. Investigations revealed that Vicky had been placed on the 4th schedule in 2022 due to his alleged involvement in various unlawful activities, including attacking security forces, inciting anti-Pakistan sentiments, attempted murder, and engaging in acts of violence.

The Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) is a banned organization known for its separatist ideology in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The group has been involved in advocating for an independent Sindhi state and has been linked to various acts of terrorism and violence in the region.
