Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice-Chancellor of BUITEMS, addresses financial challenges, unveils academic plans, and initiates collaborations to enhance education and research in Balochistan.

Dr. Khalid Hafeez, the Vice-Chancellor of BUITEMS, highlighted the critical need for securing necessary funds to support education and research initiatives in Balochistan. He emphasized the financial challenges faced by BUITEMS, with an annual loss of Rs 4 billion significantly impacting the education sector in the region.

Dr. Hafeez unveiled plans to host a national-level festival at BUITEMS, showcasing the institution's academic prowess. With 160 Ph.D. holders currently part of the faculty and an additional 160 Ph.D. scholars expected to join the Artificial Intelligence academy within three years, BUITEMS aims to strengthen its research capabilities and academic offerings.

In collaboration with Germany, BUITEMS is set to launch a comprehensive training program focusing on environmental management and disaster response over a three-year period. Dr. Hafeez underlined the urgent need for a dedicated budget allocation to support higher education institutions in Balochistan, citing a lack of financial backing for universities in recent years.

Despite minor incidents during the Pakistan Literature Festival hosted by BUITEMS, the event drew a significant audience of twenty thousand attendees over five days, indicating a positive trajectory for the university and the region.
