The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, is driving efforts to ensure the timely completion and operational readiness of the Islamabad Bus Service. In a recent meeting, Randhawa directed the Member Engineering to finalize a construction timeline for bus depots and emphasized the importance of providing subsidies to deserving groups like students and senior citizens.

The briefing highlighted that 30 electric buses have already arrived in Pakistan, with 70 more expected soon. Tenders for the construction of depots at I-9, Tramri Chowk, and Zero Point have been finalized, with contracts set to be awarded to the lowest bidder. Randhawa also called for a comparative analysis with the Punjab Metro Bus Authority (PMA) model to be conducted.

Additionally, efforts are underway to extend the bus service route to the Diplomatic Enclave, with the goal of making the Islamabad Bus Service a benchmark project. Randhawa emphasized that any delays beyond the stipulated timeline will not be tolerated.
