Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's visit to PFSA Headquarters highlights advancements in forensic science, emphasizing collaborations and initiatives to elevate forensic capabilities in Punjab.

On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) Headquarters in Lahore to gain insights into the agency's operations and advancements. The Chief Minister's visit aimed to strengthen the connection between forensic science and academic institutions, particularly focusing on providing training and internship opportunities for students pursuing forensic sciences in both private and public universities.

During the visit, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the centralization of the departmental lab under the Punjab Agriculture, Food & Drug Authority (PAFDA) and emphasized the need for the swift completion and activation of the PAFDA project. Furthermore, she directed the immediate activation of the evidence center in DG Khan to enhance forensic capabilities in the region.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif explored the advanced technologies at the PFSA headquarters, including the automated fingerprint system, ballistic system for arms and ammunition identification, and genetic analyzer machine. She received detailed briefings on polygraph examination procedures and chromosome marking in DNA Serology.

The Punjab Forensic Science Agency was recognized as a pivotal institution in delivering forensic services nationwide, utilizing satellite stations to oversee crime scenes and conducting a diverse range of forensic tests across 14 disciplines.

Accompanying the Chief Minister during the visit were Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, and other relevant officials.
