Family Tragedy Strikes Mauripur: 7 Lives Lost in Accident

On Sunday, a devastating accident shook the Mauripur area of Karachi, resulting in the loss of seven lives, including women and children, and leaving 30 others injured. The incident unfolded when a speeding bus collided with a trailer truck near Mauripur Truck Adda, causing the bus to overturn.

Rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene, revealing that among the deceased were four children and three women, with several injured individuals in critical condition. Authorities attributed the cause of the accident to the bus surpassing the speed limit while carrying passengers on their way to a picnic.

Following the tragic event, the bodies of the deceased and the injured were expeditiously transported to Civil Hospital Karachi for necessary medical attention and legal procedures. Subsequently, the bodies were moved to the Sohrab Goth mortuary for further arrangements.

The victims, identified as Sughra (40), Saadia (45), an unidentified woman (40), Sakina (6), Zeenat (4), Kinza (10), and Abdul Qadeer (14), all belonged to Azizabad’s Bhangoria Goth locality and were part of the same family.

Authorities have taken decisive action by seizing the trailer and bus involved in the accident. The trailer driver absconded from the scene, prompting law enforcement to initiate search operations to locate the individual. Higher authorities have requested detailed information on the incident from the Karachi commissioner and police.
