Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry faces legal challenges as he is implicated in vandalism cases, with ongoing investigations and court proceedings surrounding multiple allegations including corruption charges and bribery accusations.
The Lahore police have decided to involve former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in the ongoing investigation of key cases related to the May 9 vandalism. Fawad's integration into the investigation process is based on statements provided by detained suspects, revealing evidence that implicates him. Although Fawad has interim bail in all cases, he has yet to be included in certain instances, such as Case No. 97/23 and Case No. 366/23 in Model Town, along with Case No. 103/23 at the Sarwar Road police station.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court issued a notice on a contempt petition to the interior secretary and other relevant parties for inaccurate details regarding cases against Fawad Chaudhry. The court demanded their response by the next hearing, following discrepancies highlighted by Fawad's lawyer regarding undisclosed cases filed by the Punjab police.
In a separate development, Fawad Chaudhry was granted an extension in protective bail for 36 cases, pending a decision on his video link application. The court, consisting of Justice Alia Neelam and Justice Farooq Haider, adjourned the hearing indefinitely after Fawad appeared with his wife, Hiba Fawad.
Despite facing multiple allegations, including corruption charges, Fawad Chaudhry continues to navigate legal proceedings, with recent bail granted in a NAB case concerning land in Jhelum. His counsel argued against baseless bribery accusations, emphasizing his client's innocence in offering a job to the complainant.
