The Federal Flood Commission alerts about high flood levels in River Kabul and Swat, prompting collaborative response efforts by PDMA and the army to mitigate the impact on affected areas.

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) reported that River Kabul is currently experiencing very high flood levels at Nowshera, with a water discharge of 212,000 cusecs. Additionally, River Swat is flowing in a medium flood state at Munda Headworks, although there is a decreasing trend in water levels. The flash flooding in these rivers and their tributaries is attributed to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with the army, is actively engaged in response and relief efforts to address the situation. The authorities are closely monitoring the flood situation and taking necessary steps to mitigate the impact on the affected areas.

The recent torrential rains in the region have led to a surge in water levels in River Kabul and River Swat, causing concerns about potential flooding and its consequences on nearby communities. The FFC's alert underscores the urgent need for preparedness and coordinated efforts to manage the ongoing flood situation.

As River Kabul remains in a very high flood state and River Swat in a medium flood state, it is crucial for residents in the affected areas to stay vigilant and follow safety guidelines issued by the authorities. The collaborative response by PDMA and the army highlights the importance of swift action in addressing natural disasters and ensuring the safety and well-being of the population.
