In a recent meeting, Lahore Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa reviewed the ongoing efforts to control dengue in the city. He stressed the immediate reporting of dengue cases by all hospitals and laboratories to the dashboard. Fortunately, no new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours, and the warmer weather may lead to a decrease in cases. However, the anti-dengue activities will continue as a precautionary measure.

So far this year, Lahore has seen 24 reported dengue cases, with 24,244 hotspots identified. Warning notices have been issued to 3,047 hotspots, and 16 FIRs have been filed for violations of dengue prevention measures. Training sessions for dengue prevention workers are ongoing, and educational materials on dengue precautions are being distributed.

Commissioner Randhawa instructed daily inspections and clearance of all hotspots due to changing weather conditions. Deputy commissioners have been tasked with monitoring anti-dengue activities daily to ensure effective prevention measures.

On a separate note, the district administration cracked down on price violations related to 'roti and naan.' Eighteen individuals were arrested for selling these items above the approved rates of Rs 16 for a 100-gram roti and Rs 20 for a 120-gram naan. Twenty-five cases were registered for price-related violations, with fines totaling Rs 60,000 imposed on tandoors found in violation.

The district administration is actively enforcing the new pricing regulations across the city and encourages citizens to report any discrepancies by calling the helpline 0800003245.

In conclusion, Lahore's authorities are taking stringent actions to combat dengue and ensure compliance with price regulations, demonstrating a commitment to public health and consumer protection.
