Imposter Doctor Apprehended at Karachi Civil Hospital

Recently, a government hospital in Liaquatabad, Karachi, faced a troubling incident where thieves stole essential components of a CT scan machine along with other equipment. The stolen items, including wiring, circuits, UPS, batteries, and other vital parts, were taken from the Advance Trauma Centre, where the machine had been installed at a significant cost exceeding Rs 10 million. As a result of this theft, patients requiring CT scans are now being redirected to alternative hospitals for their medical needs. Unfortunately, the investigation into this theft was reportedly obstructed by influential individuals, hindering the process of bringing the culprits to justice.

In a separate event at Karachi Civil Hospital, a counterfeit doctor was apprehended under unusual circumstances. The individual, identified as Abdullah, who was said to have been working at a bakery, was found wandering around the hospital's Trauma Centre dressed in a doctor's attire. His suspicious behavior caught the attention of a vigilant security guard, leading to his identification and subsequent handover to the police. Upon interrogation, the imposter confessed that his childhood aspiration was to pursue a career in the medical field. However, due to lacking the necessary educational qualifications, he resorted to impersonating a doctor. His youthful appearance and fashionable hairstyle ultimately gave him away, prompting the hospital guards to alert the police stationed at the Civil Hospital.

These incidents highlight the importance of maintaining security measures in healthcare facilities to safeguard valuable equipment and ensure the safety of patients. It also underscores the need for stringent background checks and verification processes to prevent individuals from posing as medical professionals without proper credentials.
