The paramilitary force of Sindh, in collaboration with the District City Police, successfully apprehended a well-known criminal named Mohammad Hamid, also known as Pia, in the Eidgah area of Karachi. The operation, based on intelligence information, led to the discovery of a hand grenade in Hamid's possession. According to a spokesperson for the Sindh Rangers, Hamid had ties with MQM-Haqiqi until 2009, after which he joined MQM-London. He was identified as the leader of a criminal gang in Karachi, involved in various illegal activities.

During initial interrogation, Hamid confessed to his involvement in targeted killings dating back to 1994, including the murder of a police officer. He and his associates admitted to participating in bank robberies, snatching gold from jewelry stores, looting valuables from containers, and extorting funds in collaboration with the Lyari gang war. Additionally, Hamid confessed to supplying firearms and ammunition, such as Kalashnikovs and LMGs, to MQM-London and the Lyari gang war for terrorist activities in the city.

After operating in Karachi, Hamid had been moving across various cities like Sukkur, Peshawar, and Islamabad since 2014. He is the subject of 11 FIRs filed at different police stations. Authorities are actively conducting raids to apprehend other individuals associated with Hamid. He has been handed over to the police for further legal procedures.
