Iranian President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Allama Iqbal's mausoleum in Lahore, where he praised Iqbal's role in promoting Muslim unity and highlighted the enduring cultural and intellectual connections between Iran and Pakistan.

Iranian President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi recently visited the mausoleum of renowned poet and philosopher Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore. During his visit, President Raisi paid his respects by laying a floral wreath at the grave of the great poet. A contingent of the Rangers presented a guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

Recording his impressions in the visitor’s book at Iqbal’s mausoleum, President Raisi praised Dr Muhammad Iqbal as a symbol of the deep and historic bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan. Referring to Allama Iqbal as the ‘Brightest Star of the East,’ President Raisi expressed his admiration for the Muslim scholar's role in promoting unity among the Muslim Ummah. He lauded Iqbal's poetic works in Persian language, a fact that has earned him high esteem in Iran, where he is affectionately referred to as ‘Iqbal e Lahori’ (Iqbal of Lahore).

The visit of President Raisi to the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal signifies the enduring cultural and intellectual connections between Iran and Pakistan. It highlights the mutual respect and admiration shared by the two nations for the legacy of Iqbal, whose ideas continue to inspire generations across borders.
