Iranian President Raisi's Diplomatic Visit Strengthens Pakistan Ties

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, is set to embark on an official visit to Pakistan from April 22 to 24. This visit marks a significant diplomatic engagement between the two countries, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and fostering cooperation across various sectors.

President Raisi's itinerary includes meetings with key Pakistani officials, including the President, Prime Minister, Chairman Senate, and Speaker of the National Assembly. Additionally, he will travel to Lahore and Karachi to engage with provincial leadership. Accompanying him will be a high-level delegation, including his spouse, the Foreign Minister, cabinet members, senior officials, and a sizable business delegation.

This visit holds particular importance as it is the first by a Head of State to Pakistan following the general elections in February. The discussions between the two sides are expected to cover a wide range of topics, such as trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, and people-to-people contacts. Furthermore, they will address regional and global developments, with a focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation to combat terrorism, a common threat faced by both nations.
