K-Electric faces backlash over Karachi power outages

Karachi, the largest city and financial hub of Pakistan, recently experienced demonstrations as a result of prolonged power outages. The unrest escalated when a group of individuals forcibly entered the K-Electric office near FC Area. Reports suggest that residents of Liaquatabad expressed their frustration over the lack of electricity by vandalizing the office and damaging parked vehicles.

The protest extended to the main road near Shafiq Mor, causing significant traffic disruptions. In response to the unrest, authorities have pressed charges against the protestors for public disturbance and property damage. Several individuals have been taken into custody, and measures are being taken to apprehend others identified through video evidence of the incident.

The incident sparked further protests, with residents of FC Area gathering at the Sharifabad police station to protest the arrests and demand action against K-Electric for the persistent power cuts.
