Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tackles power outages

The Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, has directed authorities to address power outages affecting electricity consumers in the region. The recent meeting highlighted the need for efficient electricity load management, especially during the summer months, to provide relief to the public. District administrations were urged to ensure uninterrupted power supply and support electricity distribution companies.

An action plan, presented by Additional Chief Secretary Home, Abid Majeed, and approved by both provincial and federal governments, aims to gradually reduce and eventually eliminate load shedding across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The focus of the plan is on engaging local communities in implementing strategies to tackle electricity issues, rather than imposing penalties.

This initiative will enable local communities to manage load shedding at the village level, ensuring continuous electricity supply for those who pay their bills promptly. Moreover, efforts will be made to assist defaulters in settling their outstanding dues through convenient installment plans. The ultimate objective is to eradicate load shedding throughout the province by effectively implementing the action plan.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from PESCO, Police, and divisional and district administrations from various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The concerted efforts to combat load shedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of life for residents. By involving local communities and implementing practical solutions, the authorities aim to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply for all consumers in the province.
