Karachi Hosts Largest Eidul Fitr Prayer Gathering

On April 10, 2024, the metropolis of Karachi witnessed the largest Eidul Fitr prayer gathering at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (Old Polo Ground). The event was organized with stringent security measures in place to ensure the safety of all participants. Qari Muhammad Saleemi led the Namaz-e-Eidul Fitr at 8:00 a.m., marking the beginning of the 3-day festival.

The prayer gathering was attended by prominent figures including Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, diplomats from Islamic countries, parliamentarians, and various social and political personalities. A significant number of citizens also joined in offering Eid prayers at Gulshan-e-Jinnah.

Special prayers were offered for the safety and prosperity of the country and its people. A grand flower gate welcomed attendees at the entrance, and the Eidgah area was perfumed in the morning. Flags representing different Muslim countries were displayed to symbolize solidarity among nations.

Additional arrangements were made for ablution facilities, and thorough cleaning and disinfection measures were implemented at the Eidgah premises. This traditional Namaz-e-Eid gathering has been a part of Karachi's culture since 1958, continuing to bring the community together in celebration.
