Punjab Police Ensures Safety of Christian Prayer Gatherings

Over the weekend, Punjab Police in Lahore and throughout the province took significant steps to ensure the safety of Christian prayer gatherings in churches. This move came in response to the need for heightened security during religious services.

Senior police officials conducted thorough inspections of security arrangements at churches and key Christian sites. To maintain a strong level of vigilance, additional personnel and snipers were deployed at sensitive locations. The Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, issued directives to Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers to bolster security at churches. Specialized police units such as the Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite teams were tasked with conducting regular patrols around these areas. Furthermore, search-and-sweep operations were initiated around churches, Christian communities, and other vulnerable spots.

Emphasizing the significance of fostering interfaith harmony, the IGP highlighted the role of religious leaders, the Christian community, and peace committees in promoting unity and understanding among different faiths.

The proactive measures taken by Punjab Police underscore their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs. By prioritizing the protection of Christian prayer gatherings, law enforcement authorities aim to create a peaceful environment where individuals can practice their faith without fear.
