Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar Briefs National Assembly

The National Assembly was briefed on Friday by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar that the government remains resolute in its decision not to engage in dialogue with terrorist organizations. Minister Tarar emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to taking decisive action against terrorists, with a zero-tolerance policy in place. He assured that the federal government is actively supporting provinces in combating terrorism and dismantling terrorist infrastructure.

In response to concerns raised about petroleum prices, Minister Tarar clarified that the pricing of petroleum products is influenced by international market trends. Despite this, the government is dedicated to lessening the financial burden on the public. Minister Tarar disclosed that the government will absorb a significant cost of forty-five billion rupees in the upcoming fortnight through sales tax and petroleum levy adjustments.

Additionally, Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui introduced the National University of Technology Amendment Bill, while Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar presented the Apostille Ordinance 2024 and the Election Commission of Pakistan's annual report for 2022 during the session.
