Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directs crackdown on price violations in Bahawalpur district to protect consumers and ensure fair pricing practices. Price Control Magistrates enforce prescribed rates for roti and naan, imposing fines on violators.
In an effort to regulate the prices of roti and naan in Bahawalpur district, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has directed authorities to ensure compliance with prescribed rates. Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Japa, Price Control Magistrates have been actively monitoring the situation.
On April 17, a total of 158 locations were inspected by the Price Control Magistrates to enforce the newly established pricing guidelines. During the inspections, 18 individuals were found to be overcharging customers. As a result, fines totaling Rs 52,500 were imposed on the violators, 6 individuals were arrested, and FIRs were lodged against 3 individuals at the respective police stations.
This crackdown on price violations aims to protect consumers from being exploited and ensure fair pricing practices in the district. By holding accountable those who flout the regulations, the authorities are sending a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated.
