Passengers of Mianwali Express protest high ticket prices near Sargodha Railway Station, demanding prompt fare reduction for affordable travel.

Passengers of the Mianwali Express train recently took to the streets near Sargodha Railway Station to voice their concerns regarding the high ticket prices. Despite the consistent decrease in petroleum prices, the train management has failed to adjust the fares accordingly, leading to discontent among the commuters.

Commuters, such as Azhar Hussain and Muhammad Luqman, who frequently travel between Sargodha and Lahore, have pointed out the significant price difference between the train tickets and other modes of transportation. For example, while a common AC bus ride from Sargodha to Lahore costs between 800 to 1000 rupees, the same journey on the Mianwali Express train is priced at 1470 rupees, well above the expected fare according to the railway department's fare chart.

The protesters are calling on the railway department's authorities to address this issue promptly by reducing the fares to ensure that train travel remains an affordable option for the public.

The demonstration by the passengers of the Mianwali Express train sheds light on the ongoing challenges faced by commuters due to high ticket prices. It is essential for the railway department to take immediate action to rectify this situation and make train travel a more accessible and economical choice for all passengers.
