Millet Express averts disaster with quick action

A passenger train named the Millet Express, en route from Karachi to Lalamusa, faced a potentially disastrous situation when three of its carriages derailed near the Kotri Junction railway station. The incident occurred due to a brake malfunction that was detected by the vigilant train driver just before reaching Kotri Junction. Quick thinking and decisive action led to the train being redirected to the Dado track, where it was brought to a safe stop, preventing a more serious accident.

Railway officials confirmed that the derailment of three carriages caused a disruption in train traffic, resulting in minor injuries to some passengers. Following the incident, several other trains, including the Karachi Express, Green Line, and Sukkur Express, were temporarily halted at different stations. The Hazara Express was also stopped at Hyderabad Railway Station on an alternate track.

Despite the challenges, the railway authorities efficiently restored the affected track in approximately 4.5 hours, allowing the journey of the Millet Express bound for Lahore to resume. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of prompt action and effective coordination in ensuring the safety of passengers and maintaining the smooth operation of railway services.
