Nehru Zoological Park Mourns Loss of Beloved Tiger

The Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad is grieving the loss of a beloved resident, a nine-year-old white Bengal tiger named Abhimanyu. Abhimanyu, born in the zoo on January 2, 2015, to parents Badri and Surekha/Sameera, tragically passed away due to nephritis, a form of kidney inflammation. The tiger had been bravely battling renal issues since April last year, under the care of the zoo's dedicated veterinary team.

Despite tireless efforts to treat Abhimanyu's condition, his health continued to decline. The tiger, who had been unable to eat since May 12, was receiving fluid therapy and medications in a desperate attempt to save his life. Sadly, on May 14, Abhimanyu succumbed to chronic renal failure, leaving the zoo authorities and staff heartbroken.

The zoo authorities expressed their sorrow over the loss of Abhimanyu, acknowledging the unwavering dedication of the wildlife hospital's veterinary team, experts, and animal keepers in their efforts to save the tiger. Post-mortem examinations conducted with veterinary experts confirmed chronic renal failure as the cause of death. Samples were collected for further laboratory analysis to gain a deeper understanding of Abhimanyu's health struggles.

The passing of Abhimanyu, the white Bengal tiger, serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life in the animal kingdom. The Nehru Zoological Park's commitment to providing the best possible care for its residents shines through in the tireless efforts made to save Abhimanyu.
