The Chairperson of NCSW, Nilofar Bakhtiar, strongly denounces an anti-girls' education video circulating on social media. Calls for severe action against creators and promotion of girls' right to education and women's digital rights.

The Chairperson of the National Commission for the Status of Women (NCSW), Nilofar Bakhtiar, has strongly denounced a viral video circulating on social media that opposes girls' education. The video has sparked outrage among various organizations and individuals advocating for gender equality and women's rights.

Bakhtiar's firm stance against the video has led to calls for severe action against its creators. She has urged the Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA to hold those responsible for the content accountable. Additionally, she has requested the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to promptly remove any material on social media platforms that discourages girls' education.

Highlighting the significance of banning content that undermines the rights of girls and women, Bakhtiar has called upon the Islamic Ideology Council to publicly denounce the views expressed in the video.

Following a recent National Conference on Girls' Education, concerns have been raised over the release of the video. Bakhtiar emphasized that denying girls and women their right to education contradicts both religious teachings and the Constitution of Pakistan.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has also criticized a series of videos on social media where conservative clerics discourage girls' education and criticize women's use of mobile phones, citing reasons of 'obscenity.'

The HRCP has condemned the derogatory language and abusive tone used in these videos, warning of the potential for inciting violence. In a country where millions of girls are out of school and women face cultural barriers, the HRCP has called for the dissemination of strong public service messages promoting girls' right to education and women's digital rights, as guaranteed by Article 25A of the Constitution.

The widespread condemnation of the anti-girls' education video reflects a growing commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women in Pakistan. The calls for action against such harmful content underscore the urgent need to address deep-rooted misogyny and ensure that all individuals, regardless of gender, have equal access to education and digital resources.
