Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's House Detention Hinders Educational Seminar

Senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was once again unable to attend an educational seminar at Islamia School Rajouri Kadal due to being under house detention since May 3. The seminar, organized in connection with the Martyrdom anniversary of Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq, was originally supposed to be presided over by Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq but was led by Moulana Showkat Hussain Keing in his absence. Various religious and social figures gathered at the event organized by Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam to discuss societal responsibilities.

Moulana Showkat Hussain Keing criticized the undemocratic restrictions imposed on Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq by the administration. He commended the late Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq for his educational contributions and reformative efforts, emphasizing his enduring influence on the community. The 2024 issue of Nusrat-ul-Islam magazine dedicated to the late leader was unveiled during the seminar, followed by a collective prayer for his soul and other deceased members of the Anjuman.
