PM Shehbaz Sharif Cracks Down on Tax Delays

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken a strong stance against the deliberate delays in tax cases, ordering the suspension of the Commissioner Inland Revenue Islamabad and other relevant officials. This action comes as part of the Prime Minister's commitment to reform the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and ensure the timely resolution of pending tax matters.

Upon assuming office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for immediate reforms within the FBR and personally overseeing the process. The Prime Minister has urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to expedite the resolution of these cases to safeguard the national exchequer.

In a recent development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif intervened in a specific case where an FBR counsel had sought adjournment, directing authorities to investigate the matter. He expressed zero tolerance for any negligence in handling such crucial legal issues and reaffirmed his commitment to monitoring tax reforms diligently.
