The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a severe weather alert for multiple regions across the country. According to the PMD forecast, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, south Punjab, and upper Sindh are expected to experience rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours. Additionally, partly cloudy weather with similar conditions is anticipated in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and surrounding hilly areas.

The PMD has warned of potential flash floods in local nullahs and streams in Balochistan, particularly in areas like Noushki, Chagai, Kharan, and Gwadar from April 25th to 27th. Similar risks are highlighted for regions including Dir, Swat, Chitral, and Kashmir on April 27th and 28th. Landslides are also a concern in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan from April 27th to 29th.

The Met Office has cautioned about the impact of windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning on human lives, crops, structures, vehicles, and infrastructure. A westerly wave affecting western parts of the country is expected to extend to most upper and central regions by April 26th.

Authorities are on high alert, with the PDMA issuing instructions to deputy commissioners in Punjab to prepare for gusty winds, thunderstorms, and hail from Wednesday until April 29th. Emergency operation centers in all districts, including the provincial control room, have been activated, and rescue agencies are on standby to respond to any emergencies.

In conclusion, residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions to ensure their safety and well-being.
