Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar reaffirms government's commitment to media freedom and support for journalists during a meeting with Karachi Press Club. Minister presents financial aid and pledges to address challenges faced by media workers.

During a recent meeting with the Karachi Press Club, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar highlighted the crucial role of media as the fourth pillar of democracy in Pakistan. He expressed the government's commitment to upholding media freedom and supporting journalists and media workers.

Tarar acknowledged the government's efforts to settle outstanding dues owed to media houses, aiming to provide relief to those working in the industry. The meeting focused on discussing various issues related to the welfare of journalists and media workers, with Tarar assuring the delegation of his intention to address their concerns directly by visiting the Karachi Press Club soon.

President of the Karachi Press Club, Saeed Sarbazi, emphasized the club's historical significance and its contribution to promoting democracy in the country. Both Sarbazi and General Secretary Shoaib Khan highlighted the challenges faced by media workers in both print and electronic media sectors.

As a gesture of support, the minister presented a cheque of Rs one million to President Sarbazi during the meeting at the Sindh Governor House.

Minister Attaullah Tarar's recognition of the media's role as a pillar of democracy and his commitment to addressing the challenges faced by journalists and media workers reflect the government's stance on promoting a free and vibrant media environment in Pakistan.
