The capital city of Islamabad faces a surge in crime rates, prompting the police force to reshuffle key positions and enhance law enforcement measures to ensure the safety of residents.

Over the past two weeks, the capital city of Islamabad has experienced a significant increase in crime rates, with a total of 18 reported cases involving theft, robbery, and snatching at gunpoint. These incidents have resulted in the loss of valuable items worth millions of rupees for the affected citizens.

The recorded cases include two instances of burglary and 16 cases of robbery and snatching at gunpoint across various police stations in the city. Additionally, there were 18 reported cases of motorcycle theft and two cases of carjacking during the same period.

Despite efforts to address the situation, such as the replacement of 16 Station House Officers (SHOs), the police force has faced challenges in controlling the escalating crime rates. The reshuffling of SHOs aimed to strengthen law enforcement in different areas of the city.

For example, SHO Khurram Shabbir of the Aabpara police station was replaced by Adeel Shaukat, while SHO Nadeem Tahir of the Kohsar police station was succeeded by Shafqat Faiz. Nadeem Tahir then assumed the role of SHO at the newly-established Sumbal police station.

Furthermore, Sub-Inspector Fazal Khaliq was assigned to the Golra police station, and Ishtiaq Hussain took over as SHO of the I-9 police station. Former I-9 SHO Kamal Khan was reassigned to the Lohi Bhir police station, and the Women’s police station saw a change in leadership with Sub-Inspector Misbah Shehbaz taking charge.

The recent surge in crime rates in Islamabad has raised concerns among residents and authorities alike. With the reshuffling of key positions within the police force, efforts are being made to address the situation and enhance law enforcement measures to ensure the safety and security of the city's inhabitants. It is crucial for both law enforcement agencies and the community to work together to combat crime effectively and create a safer environment for everyone.
