Security arrangements finalized in NA-196 for By-Election-2024 with focus on sensitive polling stations and candidates from PPP and TLP.

All security arrangements have been finalized in NA-196, Kamber-Shahdadkot district, ahead of the By-Election-2024 to ensure a peaceful atmosphere. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kamber-Shahdadkot, Nuhammad Kaleem Malik, confirmed the completion of security measures, including the establishment of control rooms to monitor law and order in various union committees within NA-196. For the upcoming by-election, 81 polling stations have been identified as most sensitive and 77 as sensitive, with a total of 303 polling stations and 933 polling booths set up in Kamber-Shahdadkot-I district.

To guarantee transparent elections in these critical areas, comprehensive efforts will be made, with stringent security measures in place for polling staff. Both Rangers and Police will be deployed at sensitive polling stations across the constituency on the By-Election Day to maintain law and order. The Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) code of conduct will be strictly enforced in NA-196 to ensure transparent by-elections, with all district police officers instructed to remain vigilant. Mobile police teams and law enforcement agencies will ensure mobility and security within the area.

In the last general elections, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari secured two National Assembly seats, retaining NA-194 Larkana and leaving NA-196 vacant. The current candidates for NA-196 (Kamber-Shahdadkot-I) in the By-Elections are Khursheed Ahmed Jenejo of PPP and Muhammad Ali Brohi of TLP.
